Perform a variety of duties in the Rehabilitation Therapy Unit and perform rehabilitation treatments

100% paid costs to obtain specialized training in canine rehabilitation via Canine Rehabilitation Institute. This is equivalent to $10,000!!! You will become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician (CCRVT) and retain this certification for your lifetime career.

Qualifications

NYS Veterinary Technician’s license (or permit)

Ability to handle and restrain all species of animal

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Must be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraint

Must be able to work successfully as part of a team

Ability to work independently and proactively

Follow detailed directions and established protocols

Electronic medical record experience preferred

Must have flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed

CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) CCRVT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician) or CCRA (Certified Canine Rehabilitation assistant) is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Rehabilitation treatments including exercising, massage, hot/cold packing, tub/treadmill treatments, ultrasound, hot/cold therapy, laser treatments and acupuncture

Assess patients on discharge

Communicate professionally with clients and referral veterinarians regarding the patient’s rehabilitation progress

Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient’s treatment progress and charges

Assist in planning, performing and tailoring rehabilitation treatments according to patient’s needs

Maintain the cleanliness of Rehabilitation Department

Order and stock supplies as necessary

All other related duties as assigned
