About the Role
Izy Global Services LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, is hiring experienced Phlebotomists to provide onsite specimen collection at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. You'll serve our nation's Veterans across inpatient units and the outpatient draw clinic. Day, evening, night, weekend, and PRN/float shifts available for 24/7 coverage.
What You'll Do
- Perform venipuncture and blood collection on 40–80 patients per day, including difficult-access draws (geriatric, spinal cord injury, and oncology patients)
- Verify patient identity using two approved identifiers before every draw
- Label specimens at the bedside and transport to the processing lab
- Follow all VA, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and patient-safety protocols
- Deliver courteous, professional care to Veterans and staff
What You Need
- Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience
- Current phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, AMT, or equivalent)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation and complete VA-required Privacy/HIPAA and onboarding training
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under a high-volume workload
Preferred
- Hospital or VA phlebotomy experience
- Experience with hard-stick / difficult-draw patients
