School-Age Teacher

Overview

Union West Childcare & Learning Center is seeking an energetic, reliable, and caring School-Age Teacher to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children in elementary school and can create a safe, fun, and structured environment.

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum for school-age children that supports academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Provide homework help, organize activities, and encourage positive peer interactions.
• Safely transport children using a 15-passenger van while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children to build a strong, supportive learning environment.
• Maintain classroom and program spaces that are safe, clean, and welcoming.
• Model positive behavior and use effective management strategies to support diverse learning and behavioral needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience working with school-age children in a childcare, camp, or educational setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth and success.
