Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and similar machines.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues.
• Inspect equipment to confirm safe operation, proper performance, and repair needs.
• Keep accurate maintenance and repair records for completed work.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to support daily repair priorities.
• Follow safe work practices while working in shop, field, or remote jobsite environments.

• 3+ years of experience as a construction equipment mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Hands-on experience repairing construction equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, or similar machines.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical repairs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize repair work independently.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel from Anchorage, AK to Naknek, AK and work in a remote location.
• Able to lift and carry heavy equipment parts and work in a demanding construction equipment environment.

#SJ1 Compensation:

• $35.00 – $45.00/hour starting pay based on experience, certifications, and training, with earning potential up to $55.00/hour based on performance
• Overtime paid after 40 hours/week, with plenty of overtime available based on equipment needs

Shifts:

• Full-time position
• Flexible rotation options available, including 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
• Summer/busy season: Day Shift, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with 7-day workweeks possible while assigned in Naknek
• Winter schedule: typically shifts to five 8-hour days per week
