We are seeking an Accountant to support a global intercompany accounting team with a primary focus on compensation-related accounting activities. This role will be responsible for accounting and reconciliation processes related to mobility payroll, tax equalization (TEQ), expatriate compensation, stock-based compensation, and intercompany transactions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience with compensation or payroll accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries related to compensation accounting, payroll accounting, stock-based compensation, mobility payroll, and tax equalization (TEQ).
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support global intercompany accounting activities and billing processes across multiple legal entities.
- Partner closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external providers to resolve accounting and compensation-related issues.
- Assist with cash settlement and foreign exchange (FX) accounting activities.
- Review and analyze large volumes of financial and payroll data to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
- Support quarter-end close activities and related accounting deliverables.
- Manage high volumes of emails, requests, and stakeholder communications while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain supporting documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Compensation accounting
- Payroll accounting
- Journal entries
- Account reconciliations
- Month-end and quarter-end close activities
- Ability to effectively partner with HR, Payroll, Accounting, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with large data sets and high-volume transaction environments.
- Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn new processes and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tax Equalization (TEQ), tax gross-up calculations, or expatriate compensation accounting.
- Exposure to global mobility payroll programs.
- Experience accounting for stock-based compensation.
- Global accounting experience supporting international markets (UK, India, APAC, etc.).
- Experience in large multinational organizations.
- Familiarity with intercompany accounting processes.
- Experience with foreign exchange (FX) accounting and cash settlements.
- Experience using JD Edwards (JDE), Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), and advanced Excel.
