Job Title: Medical Assistant/Technician (Healthcare Support Specialist)
Overview: As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare professionals by providing medical and dental care to Sailors, Marines, and their families. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain broad clinical, technical, and operational experience across various settings, including clinics, hospitals, ships, and field units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform emergency medical treatment for personnel, including critical support for specialized units.
- Provide essential dental care and process dental X-rays.
- Act as an operating room technician and assist in surgical procedures.
- Administer preventive care and medications, including immunizations and IV therapy.
- Conduct physical examinations and assist in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and perform clinical tests.
- Support physicians and nurses across a wide range of specialties.
What to Expect: This role involves hands-on patient care with shift work and potential on-call duties. You will engage in field training and deployments with Marine and expeditionary units, as well as work aboard ships. Continuous certification in areas such as basic life support and trauma care is required, emphasizing teamwork and readiness.
Work Environment: Expect assignments in Navy hospitals and clinics, aboard aircraft carriers and other ships, and in both garrison and field environments.
