Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE JOB

Anduril's Air Dominance and Strike (AD S) mission systems team is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer with a focus on C2 Networking to join our team. The AD S mission systems team is responsible for developing end-to-end "mission-ized" autonomous air systems capable of delivering exceptional warfighter outcomes to our customers.

As a Mission Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering mission outcomes within Anduril programs through the judicious selection, sourcing, and validation of mission relevant payloads and systems. The right person for this role will have experience in the selection, integration, and validation of complex network solutions. The networks may consist of multiple security levels of storage and compute, with multiple parallel external datalinks to wider groups of autonomous platforms. You will begin with mission-level outcomes and drive to solutions through appropriate modeling of the solution, domain expertise, and vendor engagement. This will require taking ownership of subcontractor and/or internal technical development efforts and working across various Anduril internal teams to appropriately integrate capabilities. If you are someone who enjoys defining and delivering compelling next-generation autonomous capabilities through rigorous modeling and exploration of system trades followed by hands on integration in the lab and on the vehicle, then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Architect and evolve resilient, multi-classification network topologies that keep autonomous air platforms connected across contested and degraded RF environments

Design and validate unicast and multicast data flows end-to-end -- from onboard compute through tactical datalinks to ground-based C2 nodes -- latency, throughput, and reliability

Own the selection, integration, and lab-to-flight qualification of networking hardware and software, including tactical radios, routers, and encryption devices

Build and maintain network simulation and emulation environments to model mission scenarios, characterize link budgets, and stress-test failover behavior

Develop automated test scripts and traffic-generation harnesses (Python, Bash) to validate QoS policies, multicast routing (IGMP/PIM), and unicast routing (OSPF/BGP/PBR) under realistic load

Collaborate with RF, avionics, and software engineers to integrate networking stacks onto vehicle platforms and troubleshoot issues across layers 1-7 during lab, ground, and flight test events

Translate mission requirements into network engineering specifications, trace them through design and test, and deliver clear documentation for both internal teams and program stakeholders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture

7+ years experience as a network engineer

Expert level understanding of both unicast and multicast data flows

Expert level knowledge of multicast and its supporting protocols including IGMP PIM

Expert level knowledge of unicast and supporting protocols including but not limited to OSPF, BGP, PBR

Expert level knowledge of Quality of Service and CBWFQ

Experience with unicast and multicast traffic generators

Advanced knowledge of Linux based operating systems

Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting techniques at layers 1-7

Advanced knowledge of systems engineering processes including test case development, requirements enumeration, unit vs. system level testing

Ability to decompose mission-level and system-level requirements into network engineering specifications and coordinate with requirements management to ensure traceability

Proficiency in test script development using common languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)

Must hold a U.S. Secret security clearance

Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance

Ability to travel up to 30% as needed to support various efforts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with cross-domain solutions (CDS), multi-level security (MLS) network architectures, or NSA-evaluated network devices such as HAIPE inline encryptors or Type 1 cryptographic equipment

Experience with mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs), delay-tolerant networking (DTN), or dynamic routing in high-mobility, topology-variable environme…
