About This Role

Shandon Weekday School in Columbia, SC is seeking a passionate and dedicated 3K Preschool Teacher to join our team. Previous experience working in early childhood education is required.

The ideal candidate will have a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lessons, promoting childhood development, and ensuring the well-being of each child in the classroom. The position is Monday-Friday, 8 hours each day, and will eligible for benefits after 90 days of employment.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lessons that align with educational standards
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment
• Provide individualized support for children with special needs through early intervention strategies
• Foster communication skills among students through interactive activities and group discussions
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment conducive to learning
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to support child welfare and development
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices
• Represent the program with professionalism and respect both on campus and in the community

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma but Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Salary dependent upon education and experience.
• Previous experience working with children required.
• Must have knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
