Our client is a global, vertically integrated pharmaceutical company delivering medical solutions that enhance health and wellness worldwide. Over the past five years, our client has seen incredible year-over-year growth of nearly 20% and is looking to add to their team in Kansas.

HIGHLIGHTS OF

THE ROLE

  • Authority – The Operations Project Manager will lead site-wide, end-to-end projects across all operations. To accomplish this, they will lead a team of Specialists to assist with execution, strategy development, and progress tracking.
  • World-Class Plant – This is at our client's flagship facility in Kansas, where this individual will have primary responsibility, is their largest, most efficient, and successful location across their 35 countries. The site will continue receiving heavy investment over the coming years and much of the project management will focus on streamlining current operations while also supporting new developments.
  • New Role – Our client is experiencing rapid growth and requires a strong leader to support expansion.
  • Visibility – As a key leader to some of their most extensive projects, this individual will report into senior leadership across Fagron US. With success, the Operations Project Manager will be considered for potential rapid advancement.

The Operations Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing operational initiatives that improve performance, reliability, and scalability of the Kansas manufacturing facility.

This role oversees projects and improvement initiatives across the full operational value chain, including incoming materials, production, inspection, packaging, release, and distribution. The position works cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Validation, and Finance to ensure operational readiness, support equipment start-ups and validation activities, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency, service levels, and cost performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead operational projects that improve performance across the entire operational process.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Validation, and Finance to ensure efficient, compliant, and reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Support production planning, capacity management, and labor (FTE) modeling to align manufacturing resources with demand and improve operational stability.
  • Coordinate equipment startup, commissioning, and process integration for new manufacturing equipment and automation technologies.
  • Support validation and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure operational readiness in compliance with GMP and FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Track operational performance and key KPIs, including throughput, backlog, yield, scrap, cost per unit, and service levels.
  • Support the development of performance dashboards and operational metrics, ensuring visibility of performance and highlighting improvement opportunities.
  • Drive and coordinate process improvements and operational excellence initiatives, including scrap reduction, yield improvement, and workflow optimization.
  • Partner with Finance to track operational cost performance, labor productivity, and financial impact of operational initiatives.
  • Support preparation of operational reports, project updates, and monthly performance reporting for site leadership and management reviews.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Life Sciences, or a related field (PMP preferred), and brings 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or sterile manufacturing environments. This individual has strong cross-functional leadership experience, demonstrated expertise in FDA and GMP regulations, and a background in Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence initiatives. Strong project management capabilities, leadership aptitude, and strategic planning skills will be key.
