Title: Welding Fabrication Foreman

Reports to: President of Hasse Contracting

Role: Performs skilled supervisory work in directing the work of subordinate welders. This individual is responsible for assigning tasks among subordinates and personally participating in the more difficult tasks. Work assignments are received in the form of instructions, accompanied by drawings. This position has full responsibility for deciding work methods and other technical matters. Work is performed under general direction of an administrative superior and is reviewed during and at the completion of projects.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Plans, coordinates, schedules, supervises and occasionally participates in the work of welders on installation and fabrication of various fabricated structural steel.
• Creates and modifies shop drawings using AutoCAD program.
• Inspects work in progress and upon completion for adherence to specifications, quality, trade standards and observance of safety practices and for adherence to work plan and schedule.
• Previews jobs by inspecting drawings to determine extent of work; estimates job times and labor and material costs of projects.
• Takes inventory of tools, materials and parts; requisitions supplies; maintains records.
• Makes initial recommendations for discipline or promotion of subordinates.
• Prepares employee time sheets; authorizes overtime work; prepares regular work progress reports; assists in budget preparation.
• Communicates with workers, suppliers and supervisors on relevant aspects of work.
• Reads and interprets shop drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED; 5 years of related experience including supervisory or lead experience and considerable experience as a welder or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5 PM, Friday 7:00 to noon. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
