Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time using Workday Payroll and OSV
Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; proactively identify and mitigate risks
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally
Conduct regular payroll audits to validate data accuracy and ensure compliance standards are met
Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
Troubleshoot payroll system issues and support configuration updates within Workday Payroll and OSV
Partner cross-functionally with HR Operations, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and Workforce Management teams to ensure seamless payroll operations (including reconciliations and payroll funding)
Identify and implement process improvements, including leveraging AI and automation to reduce manual tasks
Participate in or lead special projects aimed at enhancing payroll processes and operational efficiency

Required Skills & Experience
Requirements
1+ year of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
Experience with payroll systems; exposure to Workday Payroll preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets (data analysis, reporting)
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex payroll concepts
Self-starter mentality with a proactive, ownership-driven approach
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Pluses
Direct experience with Workday Payroll and OSV
Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reporting automation)
Experience with process improvement, automation, or AI-driven workflow optimization
Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with HR, Finance, and Legal teams
Passion for continuous improvement and operational efficiency
