FLSA STATUS: Exempt

S ALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000 annually . This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.

SUMMARY

A Production Engineer works to bridge the engineering and production teams, helping transition components, projects, and testing from concept through manufacturing. Production Engineers work to develop, evaluate, and improve production processes considering engineering requirements, costing, materials, efficiency, and design constraints. To be successful as a production engineer, you should be an independent thinker and keen problem-solver. Outstanding production engineers can diagnose problems, train staff, and provide effective recommendations.

R ESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

Supervise the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe and efficient manner.

Lead continuous improvement efforts through a Kaizen approach liaising with engineering to develop plans that improve production while reducing costs and labor.

Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to technicians and engineering team members

Establish safety procedures and protocols that prioritize the wellbeing of others.

Evaluate and qualify vendors, suppliers, materials, and components

Operation of equipment for the purposes of CAM programming, tool making, and prototyping as required

Creation, revision, and approval of production documentation such as travelers, assembly procedures, work or rework instructions and test procedures

Observe and assist engineering and production teams in resolving issues

Communicating challenges with leadership

REQU I RED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field

Minimum of 4-6 years’ work experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.

Direct experience with shop equipment, such as CNC machines, tooling, and hand tools

Preparing and presenting technical presentations to leadership

Knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes (soldering, terminating, tooling)

Knowledge of composite structures and processes (finishing, trimming, tooling)

Experience using Kaizen (continuous improvement), A3 (problem solving), Poka Yoke (error proofing) techniques for process improvement.

Understanding of ERP systems and implementation challenges.

Strong people and communication skills, willing to work with others

Proven leadership and mentoring skills

Ability to work from engineering specifications, manuals, drawings, established procedures, verbal and written instructions

Ability to draft, read, and interpret technical drawings

Ability to perform data analytics and visualization (Power Bi).

Ability to utilize CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 3 0 pounds as needed.
