Job Description and Duties
This position is eligible to telework up to three (3) days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under close supervision of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) in the General Ledger (GL) Unit, the Accountant Trainee performs, in a learning capacity, accounting functions at the entry level for assigned DGS program offices and client agencies. The Accountant Trainee performs all tasks in accordance with Office of Fiscal Services guidelines, Governor's Budget, Department of Finance rules and regulations, State Controller's Office (SCO) policies, California Department of Human Resources policies, State Administrative Manual, and state and federal laws.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.
