Position: Elementary Permanent PD Substitute for 2025-2026

Position Details

Elementary Permanent PD Substitute for . : 2644.

Location: Noah Wallace Elementary School.

Date Available: Immediately.

Position Type: Teaching - Substitute/ Substitute Teacher.

Date Posted: 12/15/2025.

Pay: $140 per day.

Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, school days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Manage the classroom by maintaining student behavior and enforcing school rules and policies.
  • Deliver instructional material in a clear, engaging, and effective manner.
  • Provide supervision for students during lunch, recess, and other non‑instructional times as needed.
  • Address and support the individual needs of students, providing additional guidance or assistance when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents when necessary.
  • Ensure the safety and well‑being of students at all times.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or principal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and adapt to a variety of teaching situations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of basic educational principles and practices.

Additional Information

All permanent PD substitutes are guaranteed a daily assignment while school is in session. Assignments are based on location of Teacher Professional Development, so you will know in advance where you should report. Position may terminate at the end of the school year.

Applicants must submit 3 letters of reference and copies of college transcripts. If hired, candidates must be fingerprinted within 30 days. State of Connecticut teacher certification is preferred.
