Job Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examinations and establish medical history to determine donor suitability.
  • Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
  • Responsible for donor awareness of potential hazards.
  • Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling regarding unacceptable test results.
  • Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
  • Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability.
  • Assist in employee training.
  • Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.

Job Requirements

  • Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as an Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Attributes:
  • Work performed both standing and sitting for 2 to 4 hours per day each.
  • Position requires bending and twisting of the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day.
  • Frequent hand movement with the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to make precise coordinated movements of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects.
  • Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on heels on rare occasions; occasionally walks, bends, and twists at the waist.
