Position: Construction Project Accountant - Site Work
Job Description
Churchill Contracting is seeking a project accountant with at least 2+ years of cost and/or commercial construction accounting experience. This individual will be ultimately responsible for the day-to-day accounting of project financials as well as other duties in a growing construction office. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage invoices from vendors to ensure invoices are processed timely and resolve any issues. This includes obtaining required lien waivers and insurance from vendors where applicable.
- Track project expenses and payments.
- Resolve vendor issues.
- Track insurance and bond information for all subcontractors.
- Sets up cost codes and cost types for project needs.
- Support field personnel timecard entry.
- Enter equipment time entry and reconcile equipment accruals for project needs.
- Act as liaison between project team and vendors or subcontractor accounting teams.
- Strong knowledge of project contracts and change order documents.
- Familiarity with Job Cost and Construction Accounting.
- General bookkeeping for overhead costs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; primarily Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years construction accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of construction industry practices, contracts, and financial regulations.
- Strong organization and attention to detail required.
- Strong time management and self-prioritization skills required.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Takes personal ownership over tasks and asks for help, when needed.
