Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for diverse patient populations.
- Perform therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques—including trigger point therapy—and modalities under supervision.
- Monitor patient progress and document treatment responses accurately in medical records.
- Educate patients and their families on post-treatment exercises, injury prevention, and health maintenance strategies.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for continued care at home or in other settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and home health services.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines during all procedures.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with current licensure or registration as required by state law.
- Demonstrated experience with physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other manual therapies.
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to rehabilitation practices.
- Prior experience working in inpatient settings such as skilled nursing facilities or acute care units is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and follow detailed care plans for diverse patient groups including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient populations.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
