The Overnight Cleaner at Fairmont Century Plaza is responsible for ensuring the smooth overnight maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel's public areas, guest spaces, and operational facilities. This position includes performing deep-cleaning tasks, maintaining cleaning standards, and supporting the overall presentation of the property to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

What you will be doing:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

You establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors

You assisting the Supervisor in completion of special requests or misc. projects

You deep clean and keep orderly all assigned public areas. Use odor controls as necessary

You complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision following a routine schedule of cleaning

You sign in and out master keys, radios/mobile electronics daily

You are familiar with Hotel’s technology and communication platforms, and utilize to ensure hotel operation and guest satisfaction

You remove trash from public areas (Offices, Cubicles, Desks/Stands, Lobby, restrooms, patios, pool, etc.)

You empty trash in all public areas and clean public restrooms

You restock public restrooms with necessary supplies for proper sanitation and standard

You stock, clean and organize all janitorial storages, ensuring they are supplied with the necessary items to quick address liquid/solid spills, trash and stocking of public restrooms.

You clean all mirrors, inside of windows, wipe and dust all surfaces; keeping all brass shiny

You clean elevator cabins, floors, tracks and buttons; clean escalator steps, tracks, walls, railing

You vacuum carpets and walk off mats and spot carpet where needed

You clean hard to reach surfaces like high ceilings, baseboards, air vents, high shelves, high windows, chandeliers, etc.

You properly sanitize F&B countertops, surfaces and touch points. Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming

You walk through F&B spaces to ensure cleanliness

You clean and stock the Green Rooms and associated restrooms, before, during and after use

You actively assist in the safety and security of our guests and associates by reporting suspicious behavior/packages to Security or Management

You return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office

You follow all departmental policies and procedures and service standards

You report necessary maintenance items

You adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies

You adhere to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace

You are familiar with all public restrooms, offices and meeting spaces within building

You follow all safety and sanitation policies

Other duties as assigned

Hourly Rate: $33.75 (Break-In Rate applicable for New Hires as per CBA)

Schedule based on Seniority and Business Needs

Your experience and skills include:

Must be willing to work overnight

Ability to follow instruction, work with others and work independently

Ability to communicate fluently with our guests

Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision

Previous Customer Service experience an asset

Previous Cleaning or janitorial experience an asset

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Integrity and works well when Supervisors are not present

Ability to manage own time efficiently

Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and machinery

Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies

Able to use basic cleaning equipment

Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Highly responsible and reliable

Spoken and written English
