The Physical Therapist 2 (PT 2) reports to the Director of Therapy for the JV Rehabilitation Hospital Physical Therapy team. The PT 2 serves UC Davis Health as a journey-level therapist with two or more years of experience as a licensed physical therapist and has experience working in a variety of clinical settings.
California Licensed Physical Therapist
American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
Demonstrated two or more years of recent clinical experience in the field of Physical Therapy
Demonstrated one year of experience working with adults
Experience with documentation in Electronic Medical Record
Must be able to perform all responsibilities of a licensed Physical Therapist as required and assigned by Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital
Must see well enough to observe patient reactions and read relevant monitors, relevant device settings, and relevant written information such as the patient's medical record
Written and oral communication skills to clearly and concisely provide information, explanations, and instructions to, and to elicit information from others with varying levels of ability to understand, including individuals who are ill or distressed, or who may not speak English
Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for clinics'/department's customers; Ability to maintain composure, efficiency, and a positive, customer-service-oriented manner during periods of peak workload, with frequent interruptions, under tight deadlines, and when interacting with challenging customers who may be ill, angry, or emotionally distressed
identify the resources available to help solve the problem; Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached
Ability to exercise discretion to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained, and a professional, respectful clinic/department environment exists at all times
Must have basic computer skills
American Physical Therapy Association Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program Level 1
Demonstrated two years of experience working with an adult population in inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing (SNF), acute care, or a long-term acute care hospital
Demonstrated experience with neurological diagnoses (job or student rotation)
90% - P rovide Physical Therapy services to complex, complicated patients of all ages in a variety of clinical settings as assigned through the Joint Venture Rehabilitation
The primary purpose of the Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity. The hospital is a 52-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Sacramento Medical Center campus. It is equipped with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units where patients can practice typical activities of daily living. The rehabilitation hospital also includes a 12-bed brain injury unit and four private rooms for bariatric patients.
