Veterinary Technician – New Hope Animal Hospital – Minnesota
PetVet Care Centers – a trusted, AAHA‑accredited veterinary hospital in New Hope, Minnesota – is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team.
Position Overview
Responsible for providing high‑quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Duties include patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, surgical assistance, nursing care, medication administration, inventory management, patient record maintenance, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, reviewing care plans, and performing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Provide nursing care: taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, drugs, and vaccines, and bandaging wounds.
- Support patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies, securing patients, and restraining animals as directed by the veterinarian.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and specialized equipment for high‑quality pet care.
- Obtain and verify medications; administer controlled drugs with proper documentation and security.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient areas, observe clinical signs of disease, and ensure proper nutrition and hydration for patients.
- Maintain equipment and instruments: sterilize, sanitize, perform preventive maintenance, and report repairs.
- Manage inventory: place orders, verify receipts, and maintain supplies.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update the database in a timely manner.
- Communicate patient status to owners and coordinate release of patients in a clean and groomed condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or practice.
Qualifications (Required)
- Strong Veterinary Assistant experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred.
Schedule
- Full‑time, Day Shift.
- Hospital hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30 AM–7 PM, Friday 7:30 AM–5 PM, Saturday 7:30 AM–1 PM.

Compensation
$16.97 – $27.50 USD per hour.
