We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Accounting Office Manager to lead our financial operations within the construction sector. Duties

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and other regulatory requirements relevant to construction and non-profit organizations.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial data.
  • Lead cash management activities, including forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring cash flow to support project needs.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing, regulatory reporting, and management analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Implement and maintain accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, or similar platforms to optimize financial workflows.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on project cost tracking, budget adherence, and financial forecasting for upcoming projects.
  • Ensure proper account reconciliation procedures are followed regularly to uphold data integrity across all financial records.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with all applicable standards.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, IFRS standards, and governmental accounting practices.
  • Strong expertise in construction-specific accounting processes including project cost accounting and regulatory reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or equivalent platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability in cash management, budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting to support organizational growth.
  • Excellent skills in financial report writing, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation procedures.
  • Deep understanding of technical accounting concepts like double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger management.
  • Experience working within non-profit or governmental accounting environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities to present complex financial information clearly.
