Salary: $22.00 - $31.00 / hour

Elderwood at Williamsville is seeking a Full‑Time COTA to join our rehabilitation team and help residents maximize their independence, function, and quality of life.
Position Overview
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) support the delivery of occupational therapy treatments developed and recommended by a registered Occupational Therapist. The role involves assisting with planning, implementing, and documenting therapy programs for individuals and groups.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Occupational Therapy in planning, developing, and carrying out treatment programs and procedures for individuals.
- Help create group therapy programs that are mentally and physically stimulating for residents.
- Write observations of individuals’ behavior and progress in Progress Notes.
- Maintain attendance records and other departmental reports; enter treatment records into the medical chart.
- Assist the Director in training and supervising Occupational Therapy Aides and students assigned to the facility.
- Attend care planning and family care plan review meetings.
- Assist with departmental in‑service programs upon request.
- Complete MDS+ assessment forms as required.
- Inventory supplies; keep the area in good order and sanitize equipment daily.
- Attend in‑service training programs and departmental meetings as required.
- Generate and develop ideas to improve the quality of care or increase job productivity and satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Occupational Therapy.
- Carry out all job duties in accordance with safety rules and practices required for this position.
- Adhere to the service excellence standards and goals established for this job position and for all facility staff.
Qualifications
- Current New York State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification required.
- State Department of Education certification and license to practice as a COTA required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to supervise departmental staff effectively and maintain high standards of care.

- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level.
