Armed Security Officer (Florida School Guardian Certification Required)

Pay: $18.55-$20.50 per hour

Position Overview

Bales Security is seeking professional Armed Security Officers for assignments at schools and other high-profile client locations throughout the Tampa Bay area. The Officer must possess certification with the county Sheriff's Department - this certification must be current and valid. Do not apply if you do not possess a valid Guardian School certification. Current certification through the Florida School Guardian Program is required. Applicants must possess valid Florida Class D and Class G Security Licenses.

The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and capable of maintaining a safe and secure environment while exercising sound judgment and situational awareness.

Minimum Requirements

• Florida School Guardian Program certification
• Valid Florida Class D Security License
• Valid Florida Class G Statewide Firearm License
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned locations throughout the Tampa Bay area
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to pass all required background screenings

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to assigned facilities
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols
• Observe and report suspicious activity, security concerns, and safety hazards
• Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and alarms
• Complete daily activity and incident reports
• Enforce site policies and procedures
• Maintain a visible security presence and provide exceptional client service
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Florida School Guardian Program certification required
• Experience working in school, government, banking, executive protection, or other high-security environments
• Current CPR, First Aid, or related certifications

Schedule
