We are hiring experienced CNC Machinists for a growing aerospace and defense manufacturer in the Cincinnati area. This role is focused on large-part machining in a high-mix, low-volume environment supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs.
The ideal candidate has experience with Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM), Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), or similar large CNC equipment and can independently perform setups, read blueprints, interpret GD&T, make machine offsets, and produce quality parts with minimal supervision.
This is not a production button-pushing role. We are looking for true machinists who understand machining fundamentals, can troubleshoot issues at the machine, and take ownership of their work.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machining equipment, especially Horizontal Boring Mills and Vertical Turning Lathes
Read and interpret blueprints, routed instructions, process plans, and GD&T requirements
Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, prove-outs, and first article runs
Make minor G & M code edits at the machine as needed
Machine precision components for aerospace, defense, and other mission-critical applications
Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, thread gauges, and other precision measuring tools to inspect work
Work with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and aerospace-grade alloys
Deburr completed parts and complete required production and quality documentation
Maintain safe, clean, and productive work practices around CNC equipment, coolants, chips, fixtures, and moving machinery
Work closely with supervisors, quality, and other machinists to hit production and quality requirements
