Description

As a Store Cashier at Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, you will be expected to provide excellent customer service while operating a cash register. Major duties include ringing up all sales transactions, operating a cash register, and greeting and assisting customers/donors.

Responsibilities

• Greeting each customer with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude.
• Providing prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
• Directing customers to the proper area and providing general information as requested.
• Ringing up all sales transactions into the cash register and completing sales.
• Ensuring that each customer receives the proper change and correct receipt for purchase.
• Following all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card transactions, voids, gift cards, and the change Round Up program.
• Keeping the register area clean and orderly at all times.
• Answering telephone calls promptly using an established etiquette procedure.
• Assisting sales floor employees with stocking and recovery.

Physical and Environmental Work Conditions

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Standing and walking for long periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (e.g., business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School education or equivalent is preferred; previous retail and/or cashiering experience highly preferred.
• Basic computer skills and beginner knowledge of touch screen cash registers.
