Observes, inspects, maintains and repairs all piping systems and allied equipment, fittings, valves, et cetera, in all hospital buildings and facilities.

High school diploma or GED.

Completion of or enrollment in an accredited trade school program related to the plumbing trade.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

2 - 5 years’ experience in the plumbing trade involving new construction as well as maintenance of plumbing systems.

Knowledge of English language required.

Requires math, reading, adaptability, logic, driving, and typing/word processing.

Requires ability to operate specialized equipment: i.e., water heaters, handtools.

All areas of the hospital, grounds and out-buildings; works in heights and heat; Subject to shift rotation. Subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens, dust, fumes, odors, mists, gases, biological, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and other hazardous materials. The incumbent is expected to adhere to the Hospital’s Drug and Smoke Free work environment and to adhere to OSHA mandates and precautionary measures.

The employee must frequently lift supplies and/or equipment up to 70 pounds. Specific vision requirements include visual acuity, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Employees must understand and abide by hospital-wide and department-specific dress code requirements as per HR Dress Code Policy.

Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. The Hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed.
