Position Summary

As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in maintaining our diverse fleet and ensuring every vehicle meets the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, suspension, HVAC, electrical, braking, and air systems.
- Experience diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Familiarity with diesel diagnostic software and computerized maintenance systems.
- Working knowledge of ADA-equipped commercial vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL), or willingness to obtain one within an agreed-upon timeframe.
- Commitment to continuous learning, including completing annual manufacturer and technical training.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel, gasoline, and CNG-powered vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on motorcoaches, shuttle buses, vans, and support vehicles.
- Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, electrical systems, HVAC, suspension, steering, brakes, air systems, and driveline components.
- Perform complete and partial engine overhauls when required.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic and air brake systems.
- Maintain ADA equipment and wheelchair lift systems.
- Utilize maintenance software, repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
- Work directly with OEM technical representatives regarding diagnostics, warranty repairs, and technical support.
- Assist in mentoring junior technicians and serve as a team lead when assigned.
- Maintain accurate repair records while following all company safety standards.
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing, bending, kneeling, lifting heavy components, crawling beneath commercial vehicles, and working in a maintenance shop environment.
