Location: Tulsa, OK
Industrial Painter Pay Rate and Hours:
- $27.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience
- 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Thursday, with possible overtime on Friday
Industrial Painter Key Responsibilities:
- Apply protective coatings, primers, and finish paints to naval electrical components, enclosures, panels, and assemblies using spray guns, brushes, and rollers
- Prepare surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and degreasing to ensure proper adhesion
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and paint specifications to determine correct coating systems, colors, and application methods
- Mix and thin paints, coatings, and solvents to required specifications and viscosity
- Apply paint to electrical enclosures, switchgear, junction boxes, conduit, and related components per military or industry standards as applicable
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs, drips, bubbles, or insufficient coverage and perform touch-up or rework as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe paint booth and work area at all times
- Follow all PPE requirements including respirators, gloves, protective eyewear, and coveralls, when working with coatings and solvents
- Adhere to all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and VOC compliance standards
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, coating thicknesses, and inspection results
Industrial Painter Qualifications:
- Previous industrial painting experience required; experience with electrical components, enclosures, or metal fabrication preferred
- Familiarity with spray painting equipment, HVLP guns, and airless sprayers
- Ability to read work orders and paint specifications
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, including sandblasting, grinding, and chemical cleaning a plus
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a production environment
- Experience with military-spec (MIL-SPEC) or NACE/SSPC coating standards is a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
