Position Summary

The Plumber will be responsible for performing a wide range of plumbing and heating repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance across our residential and commercial properties. A key focus of this role is maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing boilers, heating systems, and related hydronic equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation for our residents. This position is critical to maintaining building functionality, safety, and overall resident satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, pipe failures, and drainage problems.
  • Perform comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boilers, heating systems, circulator pumps, expansion tanks, thermostats, and associated hydronic components.
  • Conduct seasonal heating system tune-ups and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal boiler performance and reduce breakdowns.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and heating-related equipment.
  • Respond promptly to work orders, especially heating-related emergencies during cold-weather months.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance staff, property managers, and heating vendors to resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure all plumbing and heating work complies with state plumbing code, safety standards, and building regulations.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including all heating and boiler work performed and materials used.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Plumber License (required).
  • Minimum 3 years of plumbing experience, including hands-on experience with boilers and heating systems (property management experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, heating systems, hydronic components, and related safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, boiler schematics, and heating system layouts.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, with rotating on-call availability (especially during heating season).
  • Competitive pay based on experience.
