Stand By Bus Driver and Aide
We are seeking experienced and dependable Stand By Bus Drivers to join our team. In this role, you will transport passengers or ride along to aid the bus driver along designated routes in a safe and timely manner. You must adhere to all traffic laws and company regulations while providing excellent customer service to our passengers.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Training and Experience: CDL preferred, but not required; willing to train
Essential Job Functions
- Safely Transporting Students: Drive (or ride) a school bus to ensure the safe transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other activities.
- Following Traffic Laws: Adhere strictly to traffic laws and school bus regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the bus.
- Emergency Procedures: Know and implement emergency procedures in case of accidents, breakdowns, or other emergencies.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with students, parents, school staff, and transportation authorities.
- Monitoring Students: Ensure students behave appropriately and safely while on the bus, maintaining discipline when necessary.
- Route Familiarity: Be familiar with the assigned route and ensure timely arrival and departure from stops.
- Paperwork and Documentation: Complete required paperwork, such as daily logs, incident reports, and mileage records.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development programs related to driving skills, safety procedures, and student management.
Directly Responsible To: Director of Transportation
Terms of Employment
- Follows the Transportation Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Minimum of 25 hours per week
Evaluation
- Annually by the Director of Transportation
