Position: Administrative / Event Assistant

Job Description

Work with influential community leaders and assist a dynamic team that produces signature events in Broward County. Interact with local VPs, celebrities and thought leaders to bring together the inspiration and vision for a South Florida tradition.

Hours

Full time:

Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm office hours, plus events as scheduled. May require longer hours outside of this schedule when necessary.

  • Must be able to multi-task and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to tolerate numerous interruptions throughout the day.

  • Possess superb organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work congenially with staff, board members, sponsors, adult volunteers, supporters, youth, directors and others.
  • Ability to organize complex materials, manage more than one project at a time, and communicate comfortably in a professional setting.
  • Must work with a high degree of flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment with numerous deadlines and pressures.
  • Have professional maturity to respond to urgent matters and/or crisis situations, as needed.
  • Be genuine in commitment to the fulfillment of our mission.

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Salesforce, Zoom, Word Press, Constant Contact and basic competency in Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Proficient in Google.
  • Social Media Knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills via phone, email and in person.

Mental and Physical Demands

This job is mostly in office – however events will be off‑site.

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time, bending and squatting on occasion.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. on occasion.
  • Ability to hear at a normal conversation level.
  • Ability to maintain high energy level when necessary.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence.
