About the Role Our client, a leading electrical contractor renowned for its work on major infrastructure and commercial projects, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Foreman to supervise a team of electricians on various sites in and around **Detroit, Michigan**. This hands-on leadership role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation and maintenance of electrical systems. The Foreman will be responsible for directing daily work activities, coordinating with project managers and general contractors, upholding safety standards, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in electrical work, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to fostering a productive and safe work environment. You will be a key point of contact for on-site operations. Key Responsibilities Supervise, direct, and mentor a crew of electricians on job sites throughout the **Detroit** metropolitan area. Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, electrical codes (NEC), and safety regulations. Plan and lay out electrical installations, including conduit, wiring, fixtures, and control systems. Manage daily work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor crew productivity to meet project deadlines. Conduct regular safety meetings (toolbox talks) and enforce strict adherence to all safety protocols. Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets the highest standards. Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide effective solutions. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time sheets. Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors to resolve issues and ensure smooth project flow. Order and manage the inventory of electrical materials and tools on site. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license in the state of Michigan, with a Master Electrician license preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a journeyman electrician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman capacity. Proven experience with commercial and industrial electrical systems installation and troubleshooting. Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes. Strong understanding of electrical theory, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. Commitment to workplace safety and a proven record of safe work practices. Must possess own hand tools; company provides power tools and equipment.
