School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Massachusetts

1 connection while ensuring safe transportation and in-class support throughout the remainder of this academic year, through summer, and likely into the next school year.

What You'll Bring:

  • Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license
  • Previous experience in a school setting or direct 1:

1 nursing strongly preferred

  • Skilled in providing medical and personal care for students with multiple diagnoses, including periventricular leukomalacia, spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, and more
  • Proficient with pulmonary care routines:

nebulizer use (multiple medications), chest physiotherapy using a vest, cough assist, and oral suctioning

  • Comfortable managing transfer needs with ceiling lift equipment and ongoing support, along with familiarity with braces (TLSO, AFOs)
  • Compassionate, attentive, and patient-centered, capable of both autonomy and effective communication with student, family, and school staff

Role Details:

  • Contract position averaging 40 hours per week
  • Responsible for meeting the student at his home, assisting with van transportation to and from school, and providing continuous support throughout the school day in Lexington, MA
  • Summer schedule:

July 6 - August 7, weekdays from approximately 8:

00am-2:

30pm; school-year hours beginning August 31 follow a 7:

30am-3:

20pm day

  • Ongoing assignment anticipated through the coming school year, with a high likelihood for extension
