Company Description Indiana Golf is the governing body for golf in the State of Indiana and is comprised of the Indiana Golf Association, Indiana Section PGA, Indiana Golf Foundation, First Tee of Indiana, Indiana Women's Golf Association, Indiana Golf Course Superintendents Association and Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association. The organization supports both amateur and professional golf through tournament administration, educational programs, handicap services, and initiatives to grow the game. Team members work collaboratively to serve golfers, clubs, and communities across the state. Role Description This part-time Bookkeeper role is a hybrid position based in Indianapolis, IN, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. 24-28 hours per week. The Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day financial recording, including entering and reconciling transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing basic financial reports. Responsibilities include recording journal entries, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate use of accounting software. The role will also support month-end and year-end closing activities, help maintain compliance with internal financial policies, and collaborate with staff to provide timely financial information. The Bookkeeper reports and works closely with the Director of Finance and Human Resources to support the organization’s golf-related programs and operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate transaction recording and ledger maintenance.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Quickbooks) and general accounting concepts.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and reliability in meeting deadlines.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment (Indianapolis, IN).
  • Ability to learn various software platforms.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or strong bookkeeping experience required

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable - record tournament and event registrations, prepare and recordcheck/cash deposits, record donation income, month end reconciliations and necessary journal entries; assist with quarterly invoicing
  • Accounts Payable - assist with paying vendors, coaches, golf professionals purse winnings; month end reconciliations and necessary journal entries; credit card account reconciliations
  • Assist with basic financial statement preparation, department reports
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting duties
  • Occasional assistance with HR tasks - onboarding and offboarding
  • General department support - scanning, filing,
