About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Heavy Highway Project Manager who will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of significant infrastructure projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive expertise in DOT standards and a demonstrated ability to complete large-scale projects on time and within budget.
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project performance, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and client communication. This individual will play an essential role in ensuring operational success while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across both public and private sectors.
Project scope includes highway widening and infrastructure work involving self-perform excavation, embankment, storm drainage, waterline installation, crushed stone placement, and blasting.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy highway construction project management
Project Experience
- Proven success in managing DOT highway and infrastructure projects
- Experience overseeing projects in the $20M to $100M range
- Strong background in self-perform work including excavation, grading, drainage, and utilities
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in construction management software such as HCSS, Primavera P6, Procore, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and contract management
Leadership & Communication
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong communication abilities with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
