About the role:
We are looking for a dependable Heavy Equipment & Yard Mechanic to help keep our equipment, trucks, trailers, and tools running safely and reliably.
This hands-on role includes equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment deliveries, and yard support. A valid Class A CDL is required, as frequent transportation of equipment and materials is part of the job.
The right person takes pride in their work, solves problems, works safely, and helps keep our crews productive.
Equipment may include excavators, backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, diesel trucks, trailers, generators, and other construction equipment.
Job Duties:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, diesel trucks, trailers, and support vehicles
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues
Inspect equipment regularly and perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filters, lubrication, inspections, brakes, and routine service
Perform minor welding and fabrication as needed
Keep maintenance records up to date
Equipment Transportation & Deliveries
Safely transport equipment, tools, and materials between the yard and jobsites
Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment using proper safety procedures
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers
Follow all DOT regulations and company safety requirements
Coordinate deliveries and pickups to support field operations
Yard Operations
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and shop
Stage equipment, tools, and materials for upcoming projects
Fuel, clean, and prepare equipment for daily use
Report equipment damage, maintenance needs, or safety concerns
Help keep equipment ready to support field crews
