Responsibilities and Job Description: Custodian

Areas of Responsibilities:

• General cleaning and maintenance of building, grounds and tools
• Setup and tear down for events, programs and ritual services
• Oversee kitchen inventories
• Provide hospitality support to members
• Errand transportation

General cleaning and maintenance of the building, including – but not limited to:

• General cleaning and maintenance of the building, including but not limited to:
• Maintaining clean entrances, hallways, offices, and restrooms
• Opening and closing movable walls
• Cleaning floors, walls, doors, and windows
• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen fixtures
• Cleaning desks, tables, and chairs
• Changing light bulbs and furnace filters
• Trash and recycling collection and removal
• Reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards
• Snow shoveling and leaf blowing at the main entrance, office entrance, and driveway
• Watering grass, plants, and flower gardens
• Minor exterior building repairs
• Painting and pressure washing

General knowledge of and maintenance of the outside of the building, including – but not limited to:

• Snow shoveling & leaf blowing of front main entry, office entry & driveway
• Watering of grass and/or plants & flower gardens
• Minor outside repairs and maintenance to the building
• Paint, pressure cleaning
• Changing light bulbs

Knowledge of operation and care of building machinery, including – but not limited to:

• Movable walls
• Dishwasher
• Floor polisher/vacuum
• Stove/oven
• Television
• Microphone

Event preparation:

• Preparing coffee or other food service
• Thorough knowledge of our kitchen and appliances; enabling assistance to caterers or members
• Assistance in warming meals for in-house events
• Bussing & setting up food to or from event
• Loading and clearing dishwasher
• Transport and put away heavy stocks (books, paper, gift shop items)
• Hospitality and staff representative to members
• Securing and locking the building

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
