Position: CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - FT - Nights

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides resident‑centered care in a long‑term care setting, supporting daily living activities and the nursing team under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic health‑care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and obtaining/recording vital signs.
  • Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents.
  • Aid in transferring, repositioning, and walking residents using appropriate techniques and equipment; perform range‑of‑motion and passive exercises.
  • Prepare food and assist residents with meals and snacks; offer water and supplements as needed.
  • Support nursing staff with procedures and document resident interactions, behaviors, activities, and dietary information.
  • Communicate changes in resident condition and care concerns to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non‑invasive body fluid specimens and record vital signs.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties to keep resident areas clean and operational.
  • Assist with wellness and recreational programs and encourage resident participation.
  • Participate in departmental committees and task forces as required.

Qualifications

  • High‑school graduate or GED (preferred but not required).
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing‑assistant experience in long‑term care preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; must be achieved within four months of hire or be enrolled in a state‑approved training program.
  • Annual competency testing and completion of required continuing‑education credits (minimum 12 hours per year).
  • Maintain all department‑specific certifications and, where applicable, register with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
  • May be required to hold a valid driver’s license and meet medical qualifications if the role includes driving responsibilities.
