Job Summary
Primary focus is to maintain and repair ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, and utility systems while ensuring safe, efficient operation, regulatory compliance, and reliable facility support with minimal supervision.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining and servicing ammonia refrigeration systems and related utility equipment as well as being able to maintain all necessary paperwork associated with the Process Safety Management program.
Perform PM maintenance and repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, vessels, valves, purges, and other machinery included in the ammonia refrigeration equipment.
Control the equipment set points to accommodate the needs of the facility and maintain the integrity of their product.
Install and maintain all aspects of HVAC units for the company.
Perform oil and ammonia sampling for analysis on a regular schedule.
Work directly with all refrigeration contractors, electricians, and pipe fitters when they are working on the ammonia refrigeration system to ensure that they are following all of the company safety policies and meeting work standards.
Ensure that all ammonia system safeguards are always functioning properly.
Must be able to read and interpret P& ID drawings.
Troubleshoot electrical problems.
Monitor fire safety systems.
Maintain boilers, compressors, cooling towers, chill water and related equipment.
Other duties and responsibilities assigned by direct Supervisor
What We Are Looking For: Characteristics, skills, experience, education and performance history needed for success in the position:
Three years' experience of ammonia refrigeration.
College a plus.
Must be willing and able to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, kneel, and reach.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.
Must demonstrate excellent job performance in productivity, quality, safety and attendance.
Willing to learn and able to work in a team environment.
Excellent Organizational skills.
Outgoing personality and good communication skills.
Must be able to work well without supervision
