Position Summary
The Pre-Hang Door Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling custom wood door units, preparing doors for hardware installation, and completing pre-hung door systems to meet demanding production schedules and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations through accurate assembly, machining preparation, material handling, and quality inspection of custom interior and exterior door products.
This position operates in a fast-paced, high-production manufacturing environment with heavy daily workloads, shifting priorities, and tight production deadlines. Team members must be capable of maintaining quality craftsmanship while working efficiently and consistently throughout the production process.
Working closely with Production Leadership and manufacturing teams, this position helps ensure door units are assembled accurately, safely, and according to project specifications. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced in woodworking, millwork, or manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble custom pre-hung door units according to production specifications, shop drawings, and project requirements
- Safely operate woodworking machinery including chop saws, table saws, sanders, routers, and related equipment
- Cut, prepare, and assemble door component parts, jambs, casings, and related materials accurately and efficiently
- Prepare doors and frames for hinges, locks, hardware, and additional machining requirements
- Safely operate door machining and pre-hang equipment to support production demands and deadlines
- Install doors onto jamb assemblies while ensuring proper alignment, clearances, and functionality
- Read and use tape measures precisely to verify dimensions, hardware placement, and assembly accuracy
- Inspect assembled units for quality, craftsmanship, functionality, and specification compliance prior to completion
- Maintain productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with heavy workloads and strict timelines
- Safely move, stage, and organize materials and completed door units throughout the production process
- Perform lifting, team lifting as required, and material handling of large custom door units weighing 200+ lbs., and at times substantially more depending on project requirements
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment to support production efficiency and workplace safety
- Communicate production issues, material shortages, quality concerns, or delays proactively to supervisors and team members
- Follow company safety procedures, production standards, and operational expectations consistently
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to workflow efficiency, assembly quality, and production consistency
