We're looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented Marine Carpenter / Installation Technician to assist our Lead Installer with custom fabrication and installation projects aboard some of the world's finest vessels.
Position Summary
The Marine Carpenter / Installation Technician works directly alongside our Lead Installer to complete custom marine interior projects. This role requires strong carpentry skills, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced marine environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and wants to build a long-term career in luxury yacht construction and refurbishment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Installer with custom marine carpentry and installation projects.
- Install custom woodwork, stone countertops, tile, flooring, cabinetry, trim, and interior finishes aboard yachts.
- Measure, cut, fit, and finish materials with precision.
- Safely operate hand and power tools.
- Prepare work areas and protect yacht interiors before installation.
- Load, unload, organize, and transport materials and equipment.
- Assist with demolition, removal, and cleanup of existing materials.
- Read and follow shop drawings, layouts, and installation plans.
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and company vehicles.
- Communicate professionally with clients, captains, project managers, and teammates.
- Follow all marina, shipyard, and OSHA safety requirements.
- Travel to local marinas and shipyards as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of carpentry, finish carpentry, cabinetry, construction, or marine installation experience preferred.
- Experience working with woodworking tools and equipment.
- Ability to accurately measure and use basic math.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background screening if required by marinas or shipyards.
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Yacht or marine construction
- Finish carpentry
- Cabinet installation
- Stone or solid surface installation
- Tile installation
- Corian or quartz fabrication
- Teak woodworking
- Fiberglass repairs
- Blueprint reading
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Climb ladders and work in confined spaces aboard vessels.
- Stand, kneel, bend, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in South Florida weather.
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
