Role Overview

The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will work in conjunction with the Hillel staff to manage and bolster the success of University of Miami Hillel’s student engagement strategy, with a focus on its Birthright Israel program and Israel education. The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will be a dynamic self-starter, capable of envisioning and delivering upon a plan to send large groups of students on Israel immersion trips, including providing support and inspiration to Birthright Israel participants before and after their trip. The IACT Coordinator will engage students across campus to build excitement for Israel conversations and experiences. They will develop programs and opportunities that involve participants in Jewish life before and after Israel trips, and enable students to think meaningfully about how they want to grow in their Jewish identities, and what role Israel will play in their lives.

The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will possess contagious Jewish and Israel passion, entrepreneurial energy, innovative thinking around Israel education, and excitement for building community. The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement, along with Hillel staff, will innovate, grow, and experiment with models of Jewish experience, community, education, and service that will influence the future of American Judaism.

What You’ll Do

Build 225 personal relationships with students who are not already involved in Jewish life

Serve as a thought partner and entrepreneurial leader for UM Hillel’s student life team and engagement strategy

Manage UM Hillel’s Birthright Israel program including recruitment, interviews, pre-trip orientations, and improving the trip experience

Manage our Onward Israel program, a month long internship program based in Tel Aviv, including recruitment and coordinating with community partners

Coordinate periodic Hillel-wide events in collaboration with the Student Life Team including holiday celebrations, large scale engagement events, and other broad initiatives

Oversee the IACT Birthright Budget and act as a supervisor and leadership mentor for a small group of student board members and Israel interns

Attend staff meetings and participate with regular supervision with supervisor

Collaborate with other Hillel staff to help shape and develop the mission of UM Hillel

What You’ve Accomplished

Bachelor’s Degree from a residential, 4-year college

0-2 years of professional work experience

Israel experience, education, or recruitment experience is a plus

What You’ll Receive

Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $55,000
