As a Laborer/Groundman , you are responsible for providing general labor for aerial and underground construction projects. Be responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
Perform fiber blowing operations as directed, assisting in the installation of fiber optic cable in conduits using fiber-blowing equipment
Conduct general labor on construction sites
Support with the movement of materials and vehicles as directed by the Foreman or Supervisor
Cleanup, Wash Vehicles, and Landscaping
Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment
Be involved with vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment, as directed and certified
Tow various trailers with flatbed trucks
Troubleshoot RF and Fiber line and or equipment issues
Construct and repair underground RF and Fiber service
Learn all the inventory and equipment required for these projects
As applicable, learn and be certified on the use of equipment: Line truck, Bucket truck, Cable Reel equipment, Saws, and drills
Climb poles with climbing equipment safely
Move and relocate RF and Fiber service
Be familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines
You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
You are looking for long-term projects
Have the ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build process
Practical working experience in overhead construction for both RF and Fiber
Knowledge of Overhead Bill of Materials
Extensive knowledge of Network architecture and design for both RF and Fiber networks
Flagger Certified for field work as needed
Excellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal skills
Compensation of $18-$20 per hour, depending on the experience.
