Role Description The Dental Front Desk role is a full-time, on-site position located at Bruns Family Dental Ctr in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for greeting patients, checking them in and out, and ensuring a smooth and friendly front office experience. Daily tasks include answering phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, managing patient records, and verifying insurance information. The Dental Front Desk team member will also process payments, prepare billing information, and coordinate with clinical staff to maintain accurate schedules. This position involves consistent communication with patients, attention to detail in handling administrative tasks, and support of overall office workflow.

Qualifications

  • Experience in front desk, reception, or customer service roles in healthcare or dental settings, with strong patient-facing communication skills.
  • Proficiency in appointment scheduling, phone etiquette, and managing calendars; familiarity with dental or medical practice management software is preferred.
  • Ability to handle patient records, insurance verification, and basic billing and payment processing with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working in an on-site team setting, with a professional demeanor, reliability, and a focus on respectful, inclusive interactions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or experience in dental administration, medical office administration, or related fields is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of email, electronic records, and office software; willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Prior experience in a dental office or familiarity with common dental procedures and terminology is beneficial but not mandatory.
