Starting Pay: $18.03 per hour

Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Hours: 16 hours per week

About the Position

Professional Security Consultants (PSC) is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Overnight Security Officer at Chicago Ridge Mall. This position is ideal for individuals who are customer-focused, observant, and thrive in a dynamic retail environment. Officers play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for tenants, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver superior customer service while maintaining a friendly, approachable, and professional presence
• Monitor for irregularities, including security risks, safety hazards, and emergency situations
• Respond to incidents and contact emergency services (police, fire, EMS) when necessary
• Identify and address unauthorized individuals or violations of property policies
• Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of the property
• Respond promptly to radio calls and on-site incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and accidents
• Document incidents and complete detailed, accurate reports
• Issue tenant and vehicle notifications for parking, lease line, and trash violations
• Communicate maintenance and safety concerns to dispatch
• Utilize mobile tour systems and complete assigned inspections
• Perform vehicle inspections if assigned to mobile patrol duties

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods
• Ability to observe and respond effectively during overnight operations
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
• Ability to learn and apply policies, procedures, and site-specific protocols
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training provided if needed)
• Familiarity with handheld radios and communication devices

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to obtain a State of Illinois Guard Card (PERC)
• Clean driving record with the ability to provide a driving abstract
• Reliable, self-motivated, and professional demeanor
• Must report to work on time and in proper uniform
• Ability to follow post orders and participate in daily briefings
• Complete all required documentation and equipment sign-in/out procedures
