We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for an organized individual who can work independently and take on increasing responsibilities within the group. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

The Staff Accountant (GL) will work a hybrid schedule from our Worcester, MA office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities.
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub‑ledgers across several divisions and different agency management systems.
  • Reconcile multiple cash accounts for different bank accounts.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statement preparation.
  • Document accounting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 1–2 years of experience in public accounting highly desirable.
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job‑relevant education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
