Position: Social Worker |
Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential social work services in a welcoming elementary school setting near Minneapolis, MN. This contract position offers a dedicated role supporting elementary students for the upcoming fall semester, with a reputation for the possibility of contract extensions.
You will collaborate closely with educators, families, and other professionals to help learners achieve their full potential, manage issues affecting academic performance, and foster a positive, inclusive school environment.
Key Qualifications & Desired
Experience:
- Valid School Social Worker license or eligibility for licensure in Minnesota
- Previous school social work experience, especially at the elementary level, is strongly preferred
- Knowledgeable in child development, crisis intervention, and culturally responsive practices
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with students, staff, and parents alike
- Able to manage a caseload and maintain accurate records efficiently
- Comfortable with virtual interviewing via Zoom
- Fingerprinting and background check required prior to start
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect services to assigned elementary students in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Assist students with behavioral, emotional, and academic needs through counseling, intervention, and resource connection
Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers, and support staff
- Collaborate in developing and implementing intervention and prevention programs
- Contribute to student evaluations, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and behavior support plans
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions

Compensation and Benefits:
