Adecco is currently assisting a client in recruiting for Furniture Mover / Material Handler positions in Syracuse, NY (Syracuse University area). These are short-term temporary project assignments paying $20/hour, with a first shift schedule through the end of July.
This is a great opportunity for reliable, hard-working candidates who are comfortable with physical work and can stay on task in a fast-paced project environment.
Responsibilities for this Furniture Mover / Material Handler role include:
- Unpacking furniture and materials
- Moving furniture into buildings and individual units
- Shuttling furniture using dollies and panel carts
- Staging materials as directed
- Assisting with minor assembly as needed
- Following direction from onsite project leads
- Maintaining a professional appearance while working on a college campus
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and stay active for 810 hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow direction and stay on task
- Steel-toed footwear required
- Must wear long pants and a shirt with sleeves
- Prior moving, warehouse, material handling, installation, or general labor experience is helpful but not required
Schedule:
- Assignment dates: July 13, 2026 through July 31, 2026
- First shift with an 8:00 AM daily start time
- MondaySaturday schedule for the first two weeks
- MondayFriday schedule for the final week
- Daily end time may vary based on project needs, typically around 4:00 PM6:00 PM
- Lunch break is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour
Work will take place mainly in a parking garage and on building floors. Associates must be flexible with daily end times, as shifts will end once the scheduled work for the day is complete.
Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
