HVAC Operations Manager Job Summary
We currently have an open position for a HVAC Ops Manager. We are looking for an experienced and results driven individual to help build and lead Mighty's HVAC department in an efficient and profitable manner, and in turn help us better serve our customers.
The HVAC Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and profitability of the HVAC department. This role leads field teams, service coordination, dispatch, and operational processes to ensure exceptional customer service, revenue growth, technician productivity, and overall departmental efficiency. The HVAC Operations Manager works closely with leadership to drive operational excellence, maintain quality standards, support employee development, and achieve company goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily HVAC service, maintenance, and installation operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop HVAC technicians, installers, field supervisors, and support staff.
- Work with the Dispatch team to ensure the right technician goes to the right job.
- Ensure efficient scheduling, dispatching, and completion of all service calls and projects.
- Develop and implement operational processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor departmental KPIs, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and team meetings.
- Train, develop and hold your team accountable through established KPIs and sales/revenue goals.
- Coordinate technical, sales, and customer service training for HVAC staff.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and retention of HVAC personnel.
- Address employee concerns and resolve operational conflicts promptly.
- Become comfortable with our service system (Service Titan) and learn to utilize its data and reporting to effectively monitor staff performance on a per job basis
- Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction by addressing any questions, concerns, or issues the customer may have during a service/installation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and leverage for improved pricing and additional training opportunities for team.
- Monitor sales performance, average ticket, conversion rates, and revenue goals.
- Assist in building and maintaining departmental pricing for provided services.
- Ensure all work is performed to industry standards and technicians maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.
- Hold staff accountable and maintain responsibility for their practice of company policies and procedures, including timekeeping, job record keeping, and payment collection.
- Support service agreements, maintenance membership growth, and customer retention initiatives.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives as related to operations and workplace safety.
- Maintain employee engagement and promote a positive company culture by living the values of our company.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing field technology and operational software systems.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on operational goals and expansion strategies.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a HVAC leadership and/or manager role.
- Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC operations.
- Excellent customer service, organization, and communication skills
- Possess the ability to inspire both personal and professional growth within your team.
- Ability to drive team performance to achieve all business goals and objectives.
- Strong work ethic and self motivated
- Ability to ensure policies and processes are being followed.
- Ability to utilize computer, smart phone and/or iPad for interaction with sales system. Service Titan Experience a plus!
- Experience with dispatching, field service management software, and KPI reporting.
- Understanding of budgeting, financial performance, and operational metrics.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Clean appearance

- Availability to provide weekend coverage on a rotational basis and/or as needed.
