The Regional Facilities Manager provides technical expertise, operational support, and project oversight for maintenance, repair, renovation, and capital improvement activities across a portfolio of student, multifamily, and build-to-rent communities. This role partners closely with Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, onsite teams, and corporate departments to ensure physical assets are maintained to company standards while supporting operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, resident satisfaction, and financial performance.

This position requires frequent regional travel, strong project coordination skills, and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple properties and stakeholders without direct supervisory authority.

Supports: Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, Onsite Teams, Corporate Departments, and Clients

Reports to: Director of Facilities

What You’ll Do:

Leadership & Operational Support

Serve as a regional facilities subject matter expert and resource for operations and onsite teams.

Provide technical guidance and coaching to Maintenance Supervisors and Property Managers to promote consistency and best practices.

Lead facilities meetings, facilitate training, and share technical knowledge across the portfolio.

Support implementation of company standards, maintenance programs, and operational initiatives.

Facilities & Maintenance Operations

Oversee maintenance operations and ensure proper upkeep of all physical assets, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and building systems.

Partner with site teams on turn planning, work order performance, and preventive maintenance programs.

Conduct regular property inspections and provide recommendations to address deficiencies and operational risks.

Assist with emergency response, major repairs, and property-related incidents as needed.

Capital Projects & Vendor Management

Oversee approved capital improvement projects, including renovations, rehabilitations, and insurance-related repairs.

Coordinate contractors and vendors to ensure quality workmanship, budget adherence, and timely completion.

Support due diligence activities related to acquisitions, dispositions, and asset evaluations.

Evaluate vendor performance and support ongoing service improvement.

Financial & Compliance

Partner with operations teams to monitor maintenance and capital expenditures and forecast regional needs.

Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and asset integrity.

Promote regulatory compliance, safety best practices, and proper use of PPE across the portfolio.

Support property readiness for audits, inspections, and risk management initiatives.

Resident Experience

Promote timely, consistent, and customer-focused service delivery across all communities.

Assist onsite teams in resolving complex maintenance-related resident concerns.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

EPA Certification and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification required

7+ years of progressive maintenance experience, including HVAC and major building systems

5+ years of maintenance leadership, regional support, or supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and building systems

Proficiency with computers, mobile technology, and maintenance management software

Valid driver's license and current passport required

Preferred Qualifications

CAMT certification

Experience with Entrata and Leonardo247

Associate degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related field

Knowledge of moisture intrusion, mold prevention, and microbial remediation

Work Schedule & Travel

Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and emergency response. Approximately 50%+ travel required, including overnight.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments; lift up to 50 lbs. independently (up to 100 lbs. with assistance); work at heights up to 18 feet; and travel by automobile and commercial aircraft.
